Found in the open in turkey oak scrubland, very xeric sand. Feeding on a noctuid larva. I have been searching for this spider for 15 years+ in GA... and this is my first one.

What a beautiful flycatcher.

Came out of nowhere and started flying around Atwood 260. Landed on the floor and was captured and released into the courtyard.

Sedge wren? Have only seen that species in photos so not sure.

Taken in the beach area that you can walk to behind the lighthouse. With a camera without GPS so not precise coordinates.

Tentative ID. That's what it looks like, but the dragonfly field guide shows the flight time as starting in October.

Field notes: Very violet-y and bitter. 7 cm high and 6 cm wide.
