Saw this little bird taking a bath in a small stream, we watched him for a while from the little wooden bridge over the stream. He seemed aware of us but kept on bathing!

Portion of large colonial rotifer found floating in a freshwater pond. Rotifers are full of consumed algae.

Tiny buff fluted caps with scalloped edge and central depression, gills attached to a collar encircling the dark, course thread-like stem. Growth habit on decaying oak leaves.
