I've never seen this behavior before. I thought it was a turtle at first glance. It stayed in this position until I had completely passed by, them emerged an flew toward the clutch observed nearby.

Accidentally flew into the dining tent of the lodge, hit the mirror, stunned for a couple of minutes but managed to flew away.

Noticed this flock of wild turkey's with a white individual amongst them. Not sure whether its a case of albinism or leucism. Leaning towards the latter as the eyes appear to be dark....

@gcwarbler What is your take on this one? Mixed in with other thorn-scrub species. Unfortunately, there were no flowers. I would expect fleshier leaves on Lycium carolinianum.

I found a black fuzzy caterpillar about an inch long that went into a cocoon for 5 months... Couldn't figure out what the caterpillar was, and now I can't figure out what the moth is!

I love that I recently found this plant in Oak Hill, and now to discover it on the Pine Ridge trail at McKinney Roughs in bloom is quite exciting.
