On a Eucalyptus tree. Specimen placed in box overnight. Photo 4 shows what maybe an egg about to be laid. Photos 5 and 6 show an egg that was subsequently laid (length 4 mm).

Found the three eggs shells in small hollow in foliage on a bank above a bush access road. Photos 4&5 show the eggs in situ. Looks like a dead stick insect in the leaf litter as well. Eggs maybe predated? This area has regular pest control, baiting and trapping.

Field Notes - Beautiful phasmid who was being attacked by birds! We think he's a male. Would love to know the species. Has a nice set of yellow and purple (?) wings and can fly a bit.

Not sure about the identification. Found in artificial Chatham Island Petrel burrow, associated with numerous weta. A large spider measuring c.90 mm in length. Rather reddish to my colour blind eyes. Such spiders are habitually called on this island Cambridgea annulata - so I place it here and await others conclusions. I did see sheet web spiders commonly on their webs the island at night and they sort of looked like this. This particular spider is reputed to have a painful bite.

Noticed on track as it was trying to defend itself from attack by a wasp. Amazed at how flexible it was when it curved the hind part of its abdomen around into a 'scorpion-like' posture to dislodge the wasp which was on its back.
Help with species ID would be appreciated please.
