Could this be a Plainfin Midshipman? Somewhat purplish yellow, before it became muddy. Very pretty.

the first photo is actually the last photo in the series for identification. The series shows the Kestrel eating a dragonfly in flight. It bit the head off.

Coyote with Jackrabbit

Was bird watching when I noticed there was a coyote sitting right below where I was standing. It was a hot day and the coyote appeared to be cooling off in a shaded depression.

At first I mistook it for a Chestnut Rumped Heathwren.
It wasn't until a local pointed out the white wing spot ...:D
