Forming patches in wetland with C. capillacea.
Interesting story on this one ... years ago material was collected from a property on Johns Rd (N Christchurch) under an orchard (the site is now destroyed). Later this was propagated and used in a living wall panel displayed at the 2012 Ellerslie Flower Show. Material was then extracted from the panels and propagated here - one of pots (from a shade house). I had always thought it was Cx resectans, but to my surprise, chagrin and disappointment, my careful examination suggests this is Cx breviculmis: chanelled leaves c 1.6 mm wide, 3 styled flowers, variably pubescent to marginally scabrid utricles which are shorter than awned glumes, and central green nerve in glume.
