Monarch Bioblitz. Many several-square-foot stands of Narrowleaf Milkweed (Asclepias fascicularis) in this area along shady portion of entrance driveway to park campground. I saw Monarchs here today and also a week ago.
We saw 5 Monarchs this morning on our Bishop Creek canal 4.5 mile walk south of Bishop.
Near Indian Spring. Lots of Showy milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) nearby.
Seemed a little beat up and not flying well. Landed on some Ribes next to the road.
One of two Monarch caterpillars found today in Rasor Park (planted) Showy milkweed patches. This one was found in the largest "main" patch--first monarch found in this particular patch this year.
1 adult in yard about 8 am.
Can’t tell sex.
