First one ever! I can't tell my clavate basidia from my clavate cystidia! I suspect the cystidia to be a bit larger, maybe with spherical contents, but I can't tell. The 'horns' of the basidia are vaguely apparent in some photos, but even with imagination, I can see only 2 of the suspected four horns.
gasped when discovered, location approximate (say within 5 miles of the cuyahoga river valley), found on May 7, 2024, a bit away from a mulched area, with plenty of wild plants and trees and decaying wood; ended up collecting a tree and was pretty happy. not an expert but appears to be p. ovoideocystidata.
