As I was blacklighting for moths, I noticed this rodent off and on over a 20 minute period. It remained in small bushes, eating White-lined Sphinx Moths attracted by the lights. I think I saw it eat about five of them, and I was not watching it most of the time. Seems like a lot of mass for one animal to eat -- maybe there was more than one of them?

Got the feeling this one wasn't very comfortable in the water. Maybe it was trying to escape from the large group of us sampling dragonfly nymphs on the shore. It swam out 20 feet from shore and kept on going.
Face shape and stubby tail seem good for Grasshopper Mouse but I am open to it being Peromyscus.
