Draft Environmental Impact Report- Walnut Canyon

February 21, 2017 was the deadline for public to submit comments in response to a Draft Environmental Impact report prepared for the "Abode at Glassell Park". This is a development that will replace what locals call "Walnut Canyon", the undeveloped land at the end of Haverhill Drive, with 32 homes to be valued at probably about $1 million each.

I submitted 18 pages to the Los Angeles City Planning Department- 10 pages of and dispute with findings of the report, and 8 pages of spreadsheets listing the species that I have documented in the area of Walnut Canyon. Other residents of this hillside area also submitted comments, I don't know who or how many letters were sent. Will any of our effort to save our remaining hillsides of Los Angeles be successful?

Glassell Park Hillsides Project

I started this project to make it easier for anyone photographing species within this hillside boundary to find and add observations. There are a number of native or interesting species around us, and I hope others will want to report things they find!
