2017-09-08 Twin Sisters hike

Glad to see marmots as well as pikas; seems like a good amount of activity of both species. From previous visits some years ago, I expected to see marmots, but don't recall seeing or hearing pikas; glad they're here. Photographed 3 or 4 pikas, but heard quite a few more distant ones. For the record, none of the pikas I observed were tagged. (Last pika I saw a few years ago SE of/above Long Lake (USFS Indian Peaks Wilderness) was ear-tagged.)

First hike in the area since devastating 2013 floods ripped up the drainage. Temporary trail work continues until permanent re-route identified and implemented. https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/upload/Reroutes_Repairs_Flood_Damaged_Trails_Newsletter.pdf
