Date: October 9, 2017

Location: Dixie National Forest, Summit, UT, US

Area 1: It was in Blue pines. South of Penguitch lake. North off the road (Utah state route 143), into the newly burned area.

Area 2: The area was sloped down to the south at about 55 degrees. There was a forrest fire in the area recently so it is mostly surrounded by dead trees and short grass.

Fellow Observers: I was with Jessica Christiansen and Fara Williams.

Time 1: I got to the site around 3:00 PM.

Time 2: I stayed on the site until about 5:00 PM.

Wind: I estimate the wind speed at 1 knot, or at 0 on the Beaufort scale.

Temperature: It was about 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sky conditions and precipitation: The sky was clear, no rain.

Elevation: The elevation was at about 8,209 ft above sea level.

Species list: The Observation is of a deer carcass. I believe it to be the carcass of a Odocoileus hemionus, or mule deer.
