August 28th, 2017 - Mammalogy

Today in class we went to Canyon Nature Park. We brainstormed ways to make Mammalogy fun for kids and then we broke up into groups and went in search of evidence of Mammalian presence. My group went over by the river in search of tracks in the wet dirt. We found some scat which we believe was from a dog. We also found tracks about two inches long which looked like the tracks of a raccoon, along with some much smaller half inch tracks. one of the people in my group guessed that they might be chipmunk tracks but we are not sure.
