I wanted to record this list of plants as top permorners in my experience maintaining conservation landscapes for the last fie years. These plants performed exceptionally well this year in the Mid-Atlantic in spite of serious challenges such as heat waves, drought, and challenges such as pests and diseases that landscapes face in the field of horticulture and conservation landscaping.

In many cases our native plants can be quite sensitive to conditions such as excessive heat with plants such as cardinal flower and even some native sunflowers and goldenrods developing scorched leaves, browning and other signs of stress during increasingly hot, dry summers.
