I joined the Alaska Native Plant Society in 1986 in Anchorage and met the founder, Verna Pratt. Verna's enthusiasm for native plants was contagious and I caught the bug. Through many hikes and field trips, I learned to identify Alaska's native plants. Alpine plants are my favorite. I am not a botanist, just enjoy the flowers.
