I moved from the UK to South Africa in 2004 after finishing my MSc in conservation biology. I have worked for the Waterberg Biosphere Region for 5 years and now work for Save the Waterberg Rhino. I love the diversity in nature and find the small stuff particularly interesting. I have undertaken biodiversity surveys and conservation work in the UK, Romania, Kenya, Tanzania, Malaysia and South Africa, in savanna, forest, and marine habitats.
I love living in the Waterberg and being surrounded by biodiversity all the time and enjoy getting the odd reptile or arachnid visitor :-)
I am particular concerned that in the 18 years of living in the Waterberg I have observed a decline in the number and abundance of reptiles (particular snakes) and of insects.
