I'm a professor at SUNY ESF that grew up in the woods and will likely die in the woods. I have a life long fascination with my outdoor environment...this fascination was originally spawned by growing up in a hunting, fishing, and farming family, which evolved into a hunter-conservationist ethic, and eventually grew into a holistic passion for the biological diversity of planet Earth. I went for a walk in the woods one day and I never stopped. It is my life long passion to ensure that humanity exists with minimal suffering and pain as a result of our quality and sustainable relationship with our natural environment. I am an eternal optimist, but realistic about the human condition. Tomorrow we can be better to ourselves and our planet together; apart we will always fail.
