Studied Geography at undergraduate and now working towards a PhD in the environmental sciences looking at using sustainable drainage to help retain and prevent pollution by emerging contaminants. However, I've always been interested in nature and- to a certain extent- photography, so combining these into an activity which also maps species distributions to support science and conservation is a great interest to me.

I'm not an ecologist or botanist by training. Rather, an observer and photographer of nature that is always learning more about all the species around us, how to record them, and how to identify them. I also try to provide IDs to species I feel I know enough to confirm other's observations (generally species that are quite distinct!). Occasionally I make mistakes and I endeavour to remove or update IDs in these cases. Please notify me if I have missed removing or updating a mistaken ID.
