Journal #1

Unique Adaptation: The stem of the rose plant has thorns all around as protection from potential predators who would seek to eat the plant.
Common Adaptation: I wouldn't say my observations have a common adaptation because they are a mix of plants and animals, but they have all adapted to the Maryland climate as some of them were transplanted and were not originally growing in the place they were.
Phylogeny Placement: Hydrangea Macrophylla

Really interesting adaptation! For someone that studies plants and their functional traits (thorns being one), it was interesting to see this represented in your journal!
