Biological hot-spots of an area.
I wonder if a person could do a comparison of biological diversity of different locals. They would have to normalize for "where humans go." It seems like it would be best if each section could normalize for miles of trails+roads. but maybe this could be done by just normalizing for the number of observations made in that section.
For instance, Lake Tahoe is made up of so many micro climates. I find this interesting and kind of important. I think science and forestry fuels management still works at too much of a one-size-fits-all approach that doesn't take micro climates and different biological productivity of those small areas into account enough.
