I know you don't like these swaps, but staff are impossible to get a hold of for minor changes like these. I would prefer instead if they would just add the symbol when the rank of the taxon is changed, or give curators the ability to add it. It also informs users when a taxon name was corrected, a feature which I actually like.

Genuine question: what do you have against swaps? I understand you don't like "clutter," but that doesn't seem to matter, unless you regularly check and read every one of your affected observations? The Hypericum flag still isn't corrected, even after tagging staff twice and waiting days. I don't see any valid reason not to perform these swaps when they don't seem to get handled otherwise.
