The Eurasian Dotterel Charadrius morinellus is now known to be a very deeply diverged lineage that is sister to Charadrius sensu stricto (Černý and Natale 2022). It is thus now known by the resurrected genus name Eudromias morinellus, as in Peters (1934), the first edition of Clements, and Dickinson and Remsen (2013) .
