If the South American botanists are good with this merger, I'd be pleased to see it happen. Here in NZ we've got people observing it as Araujia hortorum and others as Araujia sericifera , as it's been called both in our literature. It would simplify things greatly if these taxa merged (but only if this made solid botanical sense in South America).

Hi Jon, I'm not a botanist myself, but I'm a curator of Argentina. We have the same problem here, and if we follow the guidelines for curators, we should use the Kew’s Plants of the World Online (POWO) as Taxonomic Authority for vascular plants. They already take Araujia hortorum as synonym of A. sericifera: http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/?q=Araujia+hortorum So I fully agree with the taxonomic swap proposed.
