A fisher and a fox were fighting on the road. By the time I pulled over to take a picture, the fisher went into the bush and the fox stood its ground on the road. Very cool!
I think this mammal is a Fisher...
It was much larger than a Mink or Long-Tailed Weasel, with massive paws...
I was birdwatching in the woods along the river, and suddenly had the surprise and pleasure to observe this individual as it foraged back and forth along logs and brush piles, not too far from my position. I remained standing in place, and it went this way and that, sometimes assuming an erect posture on its haunches.
Found near the riverbank in the east central section of Iwen Park, in south Fargo, ND.

Plunge-diving in front of camera, and appears to be successful. I think I can see a tail hanging from mouth.
Gray fox trail beside the trail of a domestic cat. Stride length for the fox mostly ranged from 58 cm to 68 cm, with no understep.

Smaller individual than previously documented in 2022 in the area.
It’s been feeding on Sorbus fruit
Northern Goshawk and Barred Owl apparently after the same prey - a Ruffed Grouse in photo in between them. Grouse feathers seen on the snow in same area afterwards.
Caught raiding a nest as evident by alarming female Wood Duck on tree branch only ~5m away.
Saw 2 martens! 1 got a fish at Colchuck Lake. The other ran across the road as I was driving to the trailhead.
