January 7th - Bibionidae cont'd

Heyo, fly folk!

We're continuing with Bibionidae this week, with an unfortunate caveat: Michael may or may not be able to join us, so I (Zach) will be 'leading' the meeting. As I don't know the Bibionidae that well, we will have to struggle together, but don't fret, because we have Even's great guide and Michael's voice in our heads from last week. January 14th - Bibionidae #3

Heyo, fly folk!

This will be our last week for now working on Bibionidae. This meeting will not have very much review, if at all, in the beginning, and we will work mainly on identifying observations stuck at family to genus or species. Next week we'll switch it up!

January 21st - Global Sciapodinae, #1: New World

Heyo, fly folk!

Since I have trouble deciding what to do each week, and I currently have a strong interest in the Australasian Sciapodinae (Dolichopodidae), we're going to spend a few weeks looking at and working to identify the various regional fauna of this subfamily. We will start with the New World, focusing on species identification in the Nearctic and genus ID in the Neotropic.

January 28th - Global Sciapodinae, #2: Americas Cont'd

Continuing with what we started last week: We will take a minute at the beginning to review the American genera of Sciapodinae, and then proceed to identification while those interested in the more difficult Australasian and Oriental genera will have some resources distributed.
