Diario del proyecto Erie MetroParks

Summer has come to a close, and we are starting to see different types of wildlife as we move into fall. Lots of people are getting out into the parks and photographing some interesting things. Once again, you will see more evidence from our AHDriFT system study that we have on loan from the Ohio Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (OHPARC). There were no new members to the Erie MetroParks iNaturalist Project. If you know of anyone that may be interested, please direct them to our page!
 
The Project increased from 10981 to 11423 observations (+442), 1926 to 1943 species (+17), while the number of observers increased from 197 to 199 (+2).
 
Our number of Research Grade observations increased from 6915 to 7357 (+442). This equates to a Research Grade percentage of 64.11% (up from 62.97%).
 
In total, there were 442 observations added to the Project this month. The observations include 219 mammals, 88 insects, 52 reptiles, 33 plants, 22 fungi, 13 arachnids, 6 birds, 5 molluscs, 1 amphibian.
 
Of these, there were 122 species recorded. Northern short-tailed shrew was the species observed the most (91), followed by North American deer mouse (42), common garter snake (35), and eastern chipmunk (26).
 
The observations came from 14 observers. The top 5 observers were @eriemetroparks (265), @martyndrabik (97), @mikehensley75 (38), @samantha_smith1 (19), and @lakeerie (6).
