Italian Arum - weed info from Columbia Gorge CWMA

Italian arum (Arum italicum), also known as lords-and-ladies or orange-candleflower, is an ornamental plant that has become invasive in some areas of the Pacific Northwest. It’s extremely difficult to eradicate once it becomes established and may spread from residential gardens into woodland areas.

All parts of the plant are toxic, so if you are managing this species be sure to wear gloves when handling plants. Although difficult to remove entirely once established, you can help slow its spread by removing seed heads and disposing of them in the garbage.

For more information, see the Colubmia Gorge CWMA's poster and press release.
